Case Study: The only thing you need

Why I keep harping on frame

Most of these case studies are about frame. You may be confused; you may think that there's so much more we could go over. There's dread. There's sex. There's infidelity and how to deal with hers or maximize yours. There's handling kids or a hundred other things that you think you would deal with or are dealing with now.

Dread

Frame

I'm not saying they aren't important. I'm saying that frame is what underlies all of them. Every single issue. Once a man has frame, he tends to sort the other stuff out. Sometimes, the other stuff is handled more easily, but frame is always the hardest and most time-consuming issue for men.

It turns out modern women aren't irredeemable; it's that we don't have the skills we used to use to deal with them. Not the changing law, not the feminine imperative, not the matrix, or whatever boogeyman people use to sell you tickets to their private communities. Frame. The case studies here are with two field reports, both men who are in the middle of their Masculine Action Plan (MAP). Both are just starting to become aware of a very important aspect of frame.

What good is your wife? What purpose does she serve in your life?

And everyone thinks they have an answer. Women are for children, women are for lifelong marriages, wives are for companionship, or wives are for sandwiches. I'm not here to tell you what the answer to that question is. I can't, because it's a question every man has to answer for himself. And frankly, the whole idea of an answer to that question puts the human being in front of you, removes the humanity, and turns them into a fetish, a fantasy anyway.

Guys project their innermost desires onto their women and get mad when they can't, don't, or won't comply. If that sounds like how I describe unhealthy narcissism in Praxeology, it is. A constant theme I've peppered into all my work is the idea that you don't need women; you only want women. Most of the "work," as we put it, is you living like a single man, a single dad, or a single dude in a marriage. How would you live if you didn't have to rely on others? It's one of the basic breaking-free exercises in Glover's No More Mr. Nice Guy, the main reading in the Sidebar.

These are the two examples. A guy who is doing well in business, fitness, and life. He has his physical pillar in order. He has his intellectual pillar in order, though he admits he wants to brush up on them. His emotional pillar, though, is lacking. He still believes that if he does enough, his wife will start acting right. His first comment was from another man suggesting that he stop and that being self-sufficient makes a guy realize that most of the time, wives are good for intimacy, and anything else is a bonus from a woman who is worried about losing you.

Of course, most people who comment on others' field reports aren't teaching from a position of mastery. It's a teaching moment for both people and a technique we stumbled upon when creating the Red Pill you see today. You can remember 5% of what you read, 15% of what you write down, and 20% of what you hear. You can remember 90% of what you teach. So by swapping notes, we are learning by teaching. The lessons may be crude, they may be bad, and they may be completely off base, but they are lessons. Your job as a man is to read them, analyze if they are applicable to you and useful, and either accept and adapt or ignore. Better yet, you can teach the other guy why they are wrong and what you do instead. This collaborative teaching process is the best way to be better at doing the things you value.

And it's not done in a vacuum. As you are reading this, you get to learn at a much faster rate than the original guys did. You don't have to sit there and spend a year understanding what frame, dread, game, or anything else from the various mental models is. You get to speed through a decade of trial and error, A/B testing, and catastrophic successes and magnificent failures. Then you get to apply them yourself. There are still field reports happening today. I run a small workshop myself on Substack, and with a little bit of guidance and institutional memory, I watch these guys speedrunning what took the rest of us years to do.

It's awesome.

So when you read the next field reports, remember: What is it your wife does for you? What is there that you cannot do for yourself? I've told the story a million times. A guy will start to run his house like he is single. He cooks what he wants, works out when he wants, preps for the week, showers the kids, whatever. At some point, he will be sitting in his kitchen, cleaning the sink, and he will look over at that frump on the sofa, nagging, complaining, eating, and otherwise being a net drain on his life. On top of that, she will be sexually frigid, either through the husband's decline over the years or because she's lazy. Worse, she will offer the laziest duty sex with the least frequency possible to keep him from leaving.

He will look at all that and finally understand frame. He can do better.

The best part of that is that women aren't stupid. Most women will see that she is being left behind in a life with a newly minted top-tier man and start to step up and do more: oral sex on Tuesday, sex multiple times a week, pleasant conversation, better mothering, you name it. And if she doesn't, then Billy knows where he can find younger, tighter, more compliant, and happier women that are just waiting to replace her.

It's outcome independence; it's a win-win scenario.

It’s like substack, but entertaining and hilarious. I cannot express how much people enjoy it, and so can you

Grab

Now, onto Billy.
