I will probably put all the main stories in here, and leave all the lesson stuff for if you like the book.
The book would have 15 stories from my single days. From me being single and lonely and learning my way, to circumnavigating the globe hunting pirates, to coming home and turning into a parting degenerate with strippers and booze, to settling down with my now common-law wife.
Each chapter would have 3 lessons that I took from the various experiences, with the exception of one chapter I redacted from the final version.
So here is the start. the day I realized that keeping track of ‘notches’ was really a coping mechanism and how I was avoiding real human connection with lists.

I met a girl for the first time, and she gave me a peek into all of my bullshit. I was picking up girls for sport and enjoying it like my trade craft. We had been talking for a half an hour. Mike, a fellow sailor and wingman, was talking up her friend. We were taking these girls home with us that night. I gave Mike grief as I always did. He couldn't remember half of the girls he had slept with.
