The book would have 15 stories from my single days. From me being single and lonely and learning my way, to circumnavigating the globe hunting pirates, to coming home and turning into a parting degenerate with strippers and booze, to settling down with my now common-law wife.
Each chapter would have 3 lessons that I took from the various experiences, with the exception of one chapter I redacted from the final version.

The navy burned that saying into my head early. I would sail for half a year every year. Canada doesn't deploy often so the queen isn't gracious enough to leave you six uninterrupted months of a home-life.
