I have never heard ANYONE else say that nobody ever told them shit. I used to be really mad at my parents for this and they always said it was because they didn’t think they had enough figured out to ever give advice. We learned the hard way (only way?) I guess.

The people giving advice are often coming from a good place but they don’t understand how people actually learn. I actually really appreciate the harshness of the rp guys when they call people out for drawing the wrong conclusion or painting an L as a W just because she fucked them at the end of the story.

I don’t really see people give a lot of props on Substack in general but I appreciate it that you push on this so much. People gotta figure it out and experience it for themselves. You don’t actually know shit until you’ve applied it and made it yours. People can give you advice on how to think about things but there are very few who can actually give good advice on what to do and the list is actually really small and it’s definitely not replaying somebody else’s Ws on your own chick or making huge life decisions because somebody online told you to.

I’ve guilty of this behavior and I want to help people but I don’t actually think most of what I have to say to them will help when it comes to relationships. Yeah I have a few things that I’ll volunteer when someone asks how we’ve managed to keep the temp so high in our relationship but the reality is that it has as much to do with who we are a baseline humans as it does with what I’ve learned from the rp.

Keep the advice meta and look for the meta in what people tell you.
