It's just about finished. Look for it this spring
Her hair looked exactly like it did in the photos. Her eyes were the color of creamy jade. She has a big smile.
“I’m here! So you’re not going to rape me, are you?”
“That’s a stupid question.”
“That’s not a no.”
“Too funny. Here, come in for a second. I have to grab my keys and turn off the washer, then we can go, OK?” I have the keys in my hand already but she doesn’t seem to notice. I should have bought a buy a dog or some fish or something to feed. She comes in and looks around.
“Nice place. What kind of plants are on your patio?”
“Orchids.”
“You garden?”
“Yeah. Work is stressful, it helps me unwind.”
“That’s cool. So do you own or are you renting?”
“Oh, it’s my place.”
“Wow, you pay your bills? I’m impressed.” I’ll never understand what impresses women, it’s always the silliest stuff.
“That sofa is huge too.”
“I know, thanks. Italian leather. It was my first designer purchase since moving in. It’s my baby. Anyways. I’m good to go. My car was the Sentra beside yours.”
“The 4 door?”
“What can I say? Bitches love a man with fuel efficiency.”
“Well at least I know you’re not a rapist. They never worry about fuel efficiency.”
“Oh hush. Hop in.” I felt like a poor, but with Kate she made me feel like an aristocrat.
